Jim Petray has been assisting individuals and businesses in the areas of accounting, auditing, taxation, and business consulting for more than 20 years. He specializes in areas of construction, real estate development, automobile dealerships, wholesale distribution, as well as legal and other professional services. Jim also serves the not-for-profit industry including private schools, boys & girls clubs, trade associations, and religious affiliated organizations.
Jim's varied expertise includes litigation consulting and expert witness engagements. He has assisted many clients through the business valuation process. In the area of business dispute resolution, Jim has been appointed special court master to assist in resolving business disputes and has made several appearances before the Superior Court. He also consults with clients on succession planning and buying and selling businesses.
Jim has dedicated over 26 years of his accounting practices to Lautze & Lautze. In 1986, Jim was promoted to the role of director of client services. As a member of the Lautze & Lautze Quality Control Team, Jim is responsible for reviewing financial reports for the firm to ensure professional standards are met. In addition, he is also responsible for designing and teaching firm training modules on accounting and auditing topics.
When not at the office, Jim enjoys playing golf, the outdoors, and working towards attaining his private pilots license.

In 1976, Jim received his B.S. degree in Accounting at Santa Clara University.
