Annie Speaks Out!

Why are you passionate about your career choice?
I love a good puzzle and the feeling of accomplishment in the solution.  Be it a challenging tax position, reconciling the “un-reconcilable” account, helping an associate to understand a new concept or navigating a difficult subject with clients, I strive to come up with a creative solution to suit the situation.  I try to work hard to surpass expectations and earn the respect of my clients and associates alike.

What makes Lautze & Lautze an exciting place to work?
My very favorite part of working at Lautze is the people!  I have the very good fortune to work with fantastic co-workers and great clients.  I’ve enjoyed building the relationships, learning about people’s lives and sharing experiences.  Accounting itself can be a bit dry yet the client contact and interaction with our colleagues can bring a lot of color and excitement into our days!

Would you describe a “success story” related to client services?
When I was a staff accountant, I was assigned a project to reconcile numerous accounts for a client that had not reconciled them for a substantial amount of time.  I successfully completed the task enabling the client to get back on track to maintaining timely reporting.  In the ensuing years, I have developed a great relationship with the client and the entire family and have helped with completing planning, projections, annual tax returns, financial statements, trust accounting, and estate planning work to transfer substantial wealth to the next generation.  I like being able work with people to navigate their issues and make complex problems a little more manageable.  Every time I am able to do so, I feel like I’ve earned a little success!

What are you up to when not at the firm helping clients?
I enjoy travelling and spending time with family and friends. I’m also crazy about the San Francisco Giants.
